ABOUT
Our Story
Funcats Watersports was founded in 1975 as a sailing business primarily focused on school groups, and we have been committed to customer satisfaction ever since.

Over the years, the business grew in size and popularity and has become the largest catamaran hire business in Australia. Today, we offer a range of options for both locals and tourists.
​
Our business has become an iconic part of South Perth, and it is not uncommon to have the entire fleet of catamarans sailing on the Swan River in front of the city.
​
We do our best to ensure a wide selection of options to suit everyone. and in more recent times Funcats has introduced both stand up paddle boards (SUPs) and kayaks into the hire fleet.
Funcats does have something for everyone, and no experience is needed at all!

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
We firmly believe this is one of our strongest qualities. Even if you have never sailed or paddled before, Funcat's friendly and experienced staff will have you out on the water in no time. After some basic tuition and if needed a demonstration, you will be out sailing on the beautiful swan river before you know it.

FAQs
Do I need to book?
For anything less than 3 catamarans there is no need for you to book. Even if all of our catamarans are being hired we have on average around 10 catamarans returning to the beach every 15 minutes. With our stand-up paddle board and kayaks, we recommend booking online, but we are also happy to take phone bookings on the day you want to hire. We don’t accept phone/email bookings in advance.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, and cash.
