Sailing a Catamaran on your Holiday

If you are planning your next holiday and are at a loss for things to do then you’ve come to the right place. How about sailing a catamaran? I know there are many of you out there thinking that this is probably not for you- you’ve never sailed before so surely you can’t just go and hire a catamaran?

Well the good news is that you may not have sailed before, but with a little help (and basic tuition) from Funcats staff, you could be on the water in no time! We will can get you in the water in about half an hour after some basic teaching and sailing demonstration and away you go! However if you are not confident to get out there on your own first go it’s not a problem. Our cats can carry up to three people.

Our Catamarans are regularly maintained and all hire costs include life jackets- though it is not compulsory for individual sailors to wear them on the Swan River (we recommend you do).  A rescue craft is on constant standby and manned by Funcats staff equipped with both first aid skills and supplies. If you capsize or just can’t catch the wind a simple hand signal will see you picked up by our rescue craft immediately.

We operate from South Perth (Coode St Jetty) between September and April  and the Swan offers the perfect sailing arena whether you are a beginner or an experienced sailor. You may even be lucky enough to find yourself swimming with dolphins that are often seen swimming in the Swan river. Barbeques are available on the shore for cooking breakfast and lunch and make for the perfect way to complete your sailing experience.
