Just in case we completely confused you with our last post on Catamaran terminology, the actual sailing is one of the most simple and easy to learn forms of sailing? We truly can have you out on the water in as little as 20 minutes!

If you are doubting me I can tell you it really is as simple as three easy steps:

1. Sit on one side of the boat, hold onto the rope that is attached to the sail (fairly loosely) & control the steering with the rudder.

2.To turn, simply pull the rudder behind your body

3.Once you have turned halfway, duck under the sail and sit on the other side.

And there you have it! You have just sailed a catamaran.

We’ll go through this with you on the day of your hire along with the basics of wind direction and strength, tying knots, safety and (just a little bit of) terminology. You’ll feel like a pro in no time!

That’s all from us today. And if you don’t believe us, come down to the River and try it! We look forward to seeing you!
